New Moon Ritual
New Moons represent the beginning of a new cycle. It gives us a wonderful opportunity to reflect on our intentions - and what we want to focus on to get the most out of the coming cycle. It is an invitation to a new start, to manifest new seeds that can help you to create a new path that can bring you peace, love, presence or whatever you want to invite into your life.
Unlike the full moon, which gives us the opportunity to end and let go, the new moon shows us what we should stay focused on - the energy turns more inward, so that you can come into contact with the new that wants to be born. This is a perfect time to set goals and good intentions.
HOW TO CREATE YOUR OWN NEW MOON RITUAL?
1. CREATE A SACRED SPACE
Make the space cozy and comfortable so that you can sit undisturbed & cleanse the energy where you’ll be meditation, manifesting and self-reflecting. Collect your favourite crystals, find your mala, light candles, pick out your penn, note book/ calendar & your purify-kit.
2. SET INTENTIONS
Start with turning your attention and gaze inwards. Connect with your breath and your body by coming back home again - the gentle rising and falling and your abdomen as you inhale and exhale. Invite the beautiful, healing, nurturing energy of the breath into every area of your body. Continue this for as long as you like, then gently open your eyes and slowly move your body.
3 questions for reflection around this beautiful New Moon 🌙
1. What puts you in touch with your intuition and helps you hear your inner wisdom?
2. What lets you know you are in the flow of your life? How do you feel?
3. What helps you trust the flow of your life and receive energy instead of forcing things to occur?
When you are clear on your intention, write it down.
3. CLEANSE
Once you have set your intention, it’s important to clear yourself and your space by burning a clearing incense or herb. I prefer palo santo or white sage. Make sure that the space has an open window or door.
Smudge the rest of the space. Go to the open window or door and fan the stagnant energy out of the room. Place the smudge in your shell or where you keep it.
4. RECITE
Close your eyes again and focus on your breath. Make your inhalation the same length as your exhalation. Recite your intention. Notice how it feels in your body. Imagine how it will feel once whatever you put out into the world comes back to you. See it as already having happened and feel the outcome.
Continue to sit quietly, focusing on your intention and the feeling it will bring you. When you are ready gently open your eyes again and stretch your body. Take your time to come back.
Aligning with your intention is the easiest way to attract what you want into your life and connecting that energy with the energy of the moon is a great magnifier.
