Chuncho is one of the oldest native cacao genotypes, with a lineage over 3,000 years old, growing between the Andes and the Amazon rainforest.

It grows at high altitudes in ancestral agroforestry systems, where trees over 50 years old are nourished by pure mountain waters that enhance its aromas. Uniquely, some of its pods grow vertically along the trunk and branches.
